About Modsy

Modsy was founded in 2015 as an innovative online interior design service that developed a visualization engine allowing consumers to scan their rooms in 3D and work with online interior designers to virtually redesign their homes. The company combined technology with design expertise, utilizing algorithms developed by interior designers, design historians with PhDs, and world-class engineers to deliver personalized style recommendations and 3D room visualizations. In 2022, the company underwent a strategic transformation, with the team and technology being assigned into a new entity that shifted focus away from providing online interior design services to concentrate on the core 3D technology related to the home. This pivot allowed Modsy to refine its visualization engine and 3D modeling capabilities. On August 30th, 2023, Modsy's IP and remaining team officially became part of Lennar, one of the nation's leading homebuilders and a longtime Modsy investor. Lennar shares Modsy's spirit of innovation and provides an opportunity to scale the 3D technology to meet the needs of homebuyers at an even greater scale. The acquisition enables Modsy to continue its mission of using technology to help consumers imagine what is possible and make better decisions regarding their home, now focusing on the next generation of 3D innovation for the homebuilding industry. Prior to the acquisition, Modsy offered a comprehensive interior design service that included a style quiz to help users identify their personal design preferences, 3D room modeling from photos and measurements, and access to professional interior designers who would create personalized design concepts. The platform featured products from major retailers like Wayfair, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, CB2, and Pottery Barn, making it easy for customers to purchase items directly from their designs.
