Sharestates needed to modernize its infrastructure to support future growth goals and enhance user experience and operational performance. A single-phase migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) was implemented to complete the transition over a weekend without downtime. Using the AWS Landing Zone Accelerator (LZA), a secure and compliant landing zone was deployed in less than two weeks to establish a foundation for the AWS environment. The migration used AWS Application Migration Service and proprietary scripts, supported by comprehensive documentation to streamline approvals. The transition migrated 3TB of data across 11 servers and was completed over a weekend without downtime. After the migration, Sharestates reported faster user interface experiences for investors and faster processing speed for borrowers. The company also saw improved internal reporting for staff, improved performance of web application modules, and improved banking transfer processing speed.

IFCO operated a large on-premises environment that was more than 20 years old, and the cost to support and expand it was becoming daunting. The company needed a more flexible platform to support its growth agenda. It also faced the challenge of transforming its MyIFCO system from a monolithic setup to a microservices-based architecture to enable better customer experiences. Cloud transformation was new for IFCO, and it lacked internal capabilities in this area. IFCO selected Microsoft Azure for its flexibility and migrated part of its legacy on-premise IT systems to a fully modernised Azure cloud environment. Infrastructure-as-Code was implemented to enable faster and more robust infrastructure deployments and to improve IT operations productivity. Data analysis applications were also moved to the cloud to enable deeper insights into existing data structures for efficiency and decision-making. A new disaster recovery strategy was developed with defined recovery points and recovery times to meet budget and compliance needs, supported by FinOps-based services and round-the-clock operations support. The migration modernised IFCO’s underlying technology and provided a more flexible platform aligned to its growth agenda. Infrastructure-as-Code helped accelerate infrastructure deployment and improved the robustness of the environment. Moving data analysis applications to the cloud expanded service options and enabled deeper insights to support efficiency and business decisions. The updated disaster recovery strategy established recovery points and recovery times within the existing budget while supporting ongoing operations.
